@Thisaintjonas The note he’s leaving out is the fifth. The most important notes of a chord are the root, the 7th and the 3rd. Those are the notes that really define the chord.

Great explanation! I play bass and I wanted to show a beginner guitarist friend of mine what a tritone sub is and how it works (of course I was showing him on bass guitar…didn’t work out so well). Your video is probably the clearest explanation of tritone subs for guitarists on youtube!

Dear Justin all this stuff is brilliant and is there a possibility that you can show us how to solo using “swing feel”..bcs i find that a bit confusing tks.

Hey dude you play great, I was having a difficult time understanding tritone subs. From your video I definetly have a better understanding though I’m not quite there yet.I am trying to open up some new doors in my playing, Incorporating passing notes trying substitutions, I have been working out tunes from the real book for years but have only kept it simple, tune up 2-51 changes playing and changing keys in one position, and some songs off the great kind of blue.looking forward to your videos

I’m at a very basic level where guitar is concerned but Im pretty accomplished in piano, which i discovered makes it easier for me to learn guitar. this lesson gave me alot of insight since im trying 2 refine my playing by ear(piano) by introducing jazz chords. thanks alot (Y)
